When to Book Each Wedding Supplier
The UK wedding market is heavily front-loaded — the most popular suppliers in any area fill their calendars 12–18 months in advance for peak dates (May–September, New Year's Eve, Bank Holiday weekends). Waiting until 6 months before your wedding significantly reduces your options at every price point.
Venue and photographer have the longest lead times and should both be booked at the same stage — typically as soon as you've confirmed your date. A common mistake is booking the venue first and then discovering your preferred photographer is already taken for that date. Book both simultaneously.
Off-peak and midweek weddings give you considerably more flexibility. A Thursday wedding in November or February may find most suppliers available with just 6 months' notice at the same quality level as a Saturday in July booked 18 months ahead.
This tool calculates your deadlines from your actual wedding date so you know precisely which bookings are overdue, which are urgent in the next 60 days, and which you still have time for.
